All 3 of our Senior teams are in action again this weekend, and each will be looking to build on last week’s winning start to the season.
The 1st XI welcome Greenfield CC to Sycamore Park (Saturday, 12.30pm start), boosted by the arrival of our overseas professional for 2019, South African Neil Hornbuckle – welcome, Neil! Whilst Adam Hawley’s team were winning a bruising encounter at back-to-back League Champions Flixton last weekend (new signing Matt Sonczak 4/22 & 47), where the local A&E department reported a brisk trade, the 2018 Division 1A Champions were breezing past fellow promoted side Royton, in a match lasting less than 34 overs. Let us hope it is ourselves who are still unbeaten come Saturday night!

Also on Saturday, Danny Hall’s 2nd XI (belated congratulations on your appointment, Danny!) make the short trip to Flowery Field CC for a 1.00pm start. Danny’s boys scored 300+ in beating Dukinfield by some 153 runs at HQ last weekend (Jody Clough 74 & 6/58), whilst the Throstle Bank Street outfit were being edged out by 4 wickets up at Saddleworth.
On to Sunday, and the 3rd XI go “just up the road” to Ashton CC, where proceedings are due to get underway at 1.30pm. Well done to Zak Gregory, whose maiden century (111* off 69 balls) was the highlight of our 9-wicket Easter Sunday demolition of Newton CC. Again, 2 fledgling 100% records will go head-to-head, as Ashton were also victorious on the opening day, in a lower scoring affair against Denton.
